I've had great care from Dr. Bulchandani. Went to her thinking I had thyroid issues, after much lab work discovered I have something totally different and much easier to treat. I normally am seen with minimal waiting and she answers all my questions thoroughly.
I'm currently seeking another Endocrinologist. The last time I went to see this doctor, I left in tears. I've been a patient since 2012 and at first everything was great with her. Something changed and it wasn't me. The check up visits became rushed, diagnosis were not explained (just ran through the numbers-as if I went to med school), meds were called in to the wrong pharmacy...and a host of other reasons I'm looking for an Endo that will listen, be empathetic and not expect me to understand things from a doctor's point of view. I'm exceptionally educated, but I did not go to med school, therefore it is difficult for me to understand why this range should be this and so on. I need my symptoms treated and they are consistently ignored because of the "lab values". I didn't present as "normal" so why the expectation exists for me to fall into "normal" range now is beyond me. Not everything is strictly TSH. I'm just saying.... I'm going to continue going to see her until I can find a replacement, but only because my life literally depends on a Synthroid prescription.
I've had a good experience. I didn't have to take a class about diabetes before seeing her. She listened to me and gave me feedback that I could understand.
My fiance moved here from Knoxville in May. It took us the middle of July before he could see the doctor, because she requires everyone to take a class on diabetes before she will see them. He has been diabetic for almost 45 years. Seriously. On his first visit, we had already contacted Medtronics and gotten an insulin pump approved through our insurance. When he told her about it, she said she would have to talk to HER Medtronics rep, then she would have him come in for more blood work. Once that was completed to her satisfaction, she would order the pump. He went in the following Monday morning. She supposedly ordered the pump that week. That was in July. Last week, he called Medtronics again only to be informed that the pump had been delivered to the doctors office two days before. When he called her office, he was told he would have to take another class before she would let him begin using the pump. He is also in stage 4 kidney failure, and does dialysis 3 days a week. Each day he does treatment, his blood sugar goes through the roof. Most times higher than the meter will read. But yet Dr. Bulchandani still hasn't gotten off the ball to get him started on the pump. This is absolutely and completely unacceptable. As of today, we are making an appointment with a new Endochrinologist. I wouldn't recommend this doctor to anyone. Ever.
